Competition History

The inaugural running of this competition was held in 2016, when ten members of the Witney Lakes Seniors Section made the trip to the Somerset coast to take part in the Burnham & Berrow and Weston-S-Mare Seniors Opens.

Trophies were fabricated from some scrap wood and 'The Links Championship' was founded.

The winner is the player with the best aggregate stableford points over two rounds.

Being unable to find any other links courses, local to each other, who hold their seniors opens in the same week, the 2017 and future competitions will not necessarily be restricted to senior golfers.
